Shakespeariana is a dance collage of alternative perspectives on the female protagonists of Shakespeare’s tragedies and their possible encounters within a shared space. Ophelia’s complex, Lady Macbeth’s effect, Juliet’s tragedy — Shakespearean female characters are often associated with madness and emotional instability. The fascination with female madness extends far beyond Shakespeare’s work and continues to inspire reinterpretation by artists and theorists alike.
