Somatic Freaks – The Proprioceptors Revolution is a choreographic exploration of proprioception and balance. Over the course of three hours, Alexandra Mihaela Dancs and Vlad Benescu engage with a large tandem balancing apparatus, responding to its shifting dynamics with precision and care. Their movements emerge from a constant negotiation between stability and imbalance, creating a subtle dialogue of control, fragility, and adaptation.
The performance unfolds as a living laboratory – a meditation on failure and recovery, trust and awareness. It reflects on how we regain equilibrium in unstable conditions, both physical and emotional, inviting the audience to witness balance as an ever-changing state rather than a fixed ideal.
